The fantastic charm on the fashion runway attracts countless young people, encouraging them to be involved no matter how much sweat and tears would be.

前日， 2015“迷人的哈尔滨之夏”青年模特大赛决赛在哈尔滨时装周举办场地西城红场成功落幕，针对本次赛事和模特职业发展等问题，我们对哈尔滨新丝路模特学校资深教师牛哲进行了专访。

On the day before yesterday, the Youth Model Contest of 2015 Harbin Charming Summer was successfully held in Hongbo West Red Square, where Harbin Fashion Week was held. We invited senior professor Niu Zhe for an exclusive interview about the contest and the career development of models.

H（哈尔滨时装周）：你觉得一个优秀的模特应该具备怎样的条件和素质？

H (Harbin Fashion Week): What do you consider are the required conditions and quality that an excellent model should own?

牛哲：优秀模特一般分为两种类型：一种是自身条件优越，另一种是舞台的表现力强，有些模特的先天自身条件特别好，有一些则没有那么突出，需要通过提高后天的舞台技巧加以弥补，我觉得一个真正的优秀模特需要做到两者融合，并相互配合，才能成为T台上的佼佼者。除此之外，优秀的模特需要遵循行业的职业操守，更应该敬业，舞台上光鲜亮丽的模特在台下往往要付出一般人难以承受的辛苦，所以需要模特的敬业以及对这个行业长期的热爱，才能对这个行业有长期的坚持。

Niu: In generally, models are divided in two types, those who has great congenital conditions and those who performs well on the stage. I think a real excellent model should integrate both of them. Besides, a qualified model should keep to the professional integrity, which means, only with long and stable love for the model career he who will insist on.  

H：模特是否真如大众传言的一样，只是一碗青春饭？离开这个模特职业后他们会有怎样的发展路径？

H: Is it like what they said that model is a career for young people only? What kind of development path will they face once they leave the fashion runway?

牛哲：“模特是一碗青春饭”这句话要一分为二的说，有一些模特到了一定年龄后，会综合自己的皮肤状态、身材条件以及心理状况等多方面考虑结束自己的模特生涯，转而投向其他职业发展，模特并没有年龄的限制，比如男模反而年龄偏大一些，在舞台上才能表现出应有的韵味。对于选择离开舞台的模特，他们可从事的行业也是多样的，比如服装设计师、舞台编导、陈列师等等相关的职业，并不是说模特就只能做模特，要看他的眼光有没有放得远一些，如果只看当下，那可能就真的只会在T台上走路。

Niu: It de nds, some models decide to finish model career when they reach a certain age by considering their skin, physical and mental conditions. However, there is no age limit for models, especially for male models, the older he is, the more attractively he performs. For those who left the fashion runway, they could be fashion designers, stage directors, VMD designers and ect. Models are not only models. It depends if he has a further foresight. 

H：你对参加本次比赛的青年模特和想进入这个行业的年轻人有哪些忠告？

H: What kind of suggestions do you want to tell the contestants and young people who is eager to enter the model career?

牛哲：一些年龄十七八岁的年轻人抱着要成为名模的心理状态，和一个成为名模的梦想来参加比赛，对于进入这个比赛和没进入这个比赛的同样怀揣着名模梦想的年轻人，我在这里也想告诉大家：模特能成为名模的是少数，成为名模中的名模是极少数，在你成为一流模特之前，不要先放弃你当下的工作和学习，除非当你在舞台上有一定的经验后，想继续在这个行业发展下去。同时我也想给参加决赛比赛的选手一些忠告：不要将在这次比赛取得的成绩作为你终身的成就，这只是一个开始，不要被一些泡沫般存在的东西影响到你的职业发展。

Niu: Some young people of seventeen or eighteen dream of being famous models, but I want to tell them that only quite few could become famous models, before becoming a top-level model, do not give up current work and study, and constantly gain fashion runway experience. Also, I want to say to the contestants who entered in finals, do not consider today’s achievements as lifelong progress, do not affect your professional development. This is just a beginning. 

H：未来这个行业对模特的要求有什么变化？

H: In the future what kinds of requirements will come up with for models?

牛哲：前些年对模特的要求是：个子要高、身材要好，长相要甜美，但近些年这个行业发生了很大的变化，对模特的要求也多样化了，除了身材要求不变，身高可以偏矮一些，长相也可以有个性一些，不会再像以前一样，只有长相甜美才能做模特，比如吕燕的出现，这种有个性的模特更适合走国际路线，符合国际T台的需求。

Niu: A few years ago it required models to have tall, nice shape and sweet look. But in recently, the requirements of models have changed, except for the shape, height and look have become more characteristic, for example, Lv Yan, the characteristic model is more suitable for international style and fashion runway. 

H：本届青年模特大赛的决赛场地为什么会选择在西城红场？

H: Why West Red Square has been chosen as the host place of the Youth Model Contest?

牛哲：因为西城红场曾经承办过多届时装周的发布会，在哈尔滨是个特别专业的秀场，决赛能够在这里举行也能说明我们比赛的高规格和专业性，同时我们对西城红场也是特别的信任，场地的硬件条件也非常符合我们的比赛要求，所以我们把决赛的比赛场地放在了西城红场。

Niu: Many launches of fashion week have been held here, it is a specially professional venue in Harbin, since the contest requires professional hardware conditions. pends, some models decide to finish model career when they reach a certain age by considering their skin, physical and mental conditions. However, there is no age limit for models, especially for male models, the older he is, the more attractively he performs. For those who left the fashion runway, they could be fashion designers, stage directors, VMD designers and ect. Models are not only models. It depends if he has a further foresight. 

H：你对参加本次比赛的青年模特和想进入这个行业的年轻人有哪些忠告？

哈尔滨时装周是时尚产业的综合聚集与展现，我们也时刻关注着这个产业下各行各业的发展，模特是时装周这个时尚大趴很重要的一环，我们也希望越来越多的模特通过哈尔滨时装周这个平台走向国际舞台！

Harbin Fashion Week is the comprehensive aggregation and presentation of fashion industry. Models are the important part of fashion week. We also wish that more and more models would go to the international stage through Harbin Fashion Week!
